Amsterdam Car Rental
Adam's Rent a Car in Amsterdam
It's a bit funny how you often hear not to rent a car while on holiday in Amsterdam. Despite this, many visitors to the city do rent a car in Amsterdam— and oftentimes with good reason. Whether because of business trips, or planned tours of the rest of the country, or just because they want to get around, plenty of Amsterdam tourists grab a car on arrival at the airport.
Because of this, the city is full of car rental agencies. Like any other major European city, when you arrive in Schipol Airport you'll find rental desks for all the major car rental companies: Avis, Hertz, Europcar, and more. But if you're out to rent a car in Amsterdam on a budget, it's often a good idea to go with one of the smaller Dutch firms. These local firms tend to offer better prices (and often friendlier service) than their international counterparts. One of the biggest and most popular local Amsterdam car rental companies is Adam's Rent a Car.
Adam's Rent a Car doesn't have a desk at Schipol airport, which is one of the reasons why their prices are more reasonable. Instead, Adam's has two locations within the city itself. Adam's main location is at Nassaukade— a location easily reached by public transport as well as by car. And it may just be worth going into the city to rent a car if you're looking to save.
The prices at Adam's Rent a Car range from %euro;32 per day for a compact car to €88 for a convertible. They also offer large vans and transport vehicles. Their prices and vehicle options are all available on their website (see below). Though the website is not available in English, it's easy to get a feel for availability and pricing, and placing a reservation can be done in English over the telephone by calling +31 (0)20 6850111.
